The rule
Red means off-road. That is not a suggestion.
Dyed diesel and clear diesel are chemically the same fuel. The difference is tax: clear diesel carries on-highway fuel tax, dyed diesel does not, and the red dye exists so that can be checked.
Because it is untaxed, dyed diesel is legally restricted to off-road use — construction plant, generators, agricultural and industrial equipment that stays on private property. Running it in a road-registered vehicle is a violation, and the dye is detectable long after the fuel is gone.

Is dyed diesel lower quality than clear diesel?
No. It is the same fuel. The dye marks its tax status, not its specification.
Can we run it in our pickups on site?
Not if they are road-registered. The restriction is about the vehicle being legal for public roads, not about where it happens to be at the time.
Can you deliver clear and dyed on the same visit?
Yes. Mixed sites are the normal case, and separate compartments mean one visit can cover both.
What documentation do we get?
Delivery records appropriate to the fuel, including the off-road classification, so the fuel spend reconciles cleanly.
