Most routes to lower fleet emissions mean replacing something expensive. This one does not. Renewable diesel is chemically diesel, it goes through the same fill point, and the engine cannot tell the difference.

What it is
It is not biodiesel, and the difference matters.
Renewable diesel is made from renewable feedstocks by hydrotreating, and the result is chemically equivalent to petroleum diesel. That equivalence is the whole point of it.
Biodiesel is a different molecule. It goes in at limited blend ratios and brings storage and cold-weather handling considerations with it. Renewable diesel meets the same specification as the diesel already in your tank, so it carries none of that.
Which means adopting it is a purchasing decision, not a capital project. No engine modification, no new infrastructure, no retraining, no change to how anyone fills a truck. It mixes with conventional diesel in any proportion, so there is no transition window to manage and no empty-the-tank day.

Emissions and reporting
The reduction is real. The number depends on the fuel.
Renewable diesel produces lower lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions than petroleum diesel. How much lower depends on the feedstock and the production pathway, which is why any supplier quoting you a single headline percentage without naming the pathway behind it is quoting you marketing.
If you have to report the reduction, ask for the documentation before you commit — the producer holds it, and it is a fair thing to ask for. Tell us what you need to report and we will tell you what we can supply against it.
The operational half is simpler: the fuel arrives on the same delivery records as everything else, so the volume side of the reporting is already in your hands.

Is renewable diesel the same as biodiesel?
No, and it is the most common confusion. Biodiesel is a different molecule, blended in limited proportions, with its own storage and cold-weather handling considerations. Renewable diesel is hydrotreated and chemically equivalent to petroleum diesel — it meets the same specification and behaves the same way.
Do we have to modify engines or tanks?
No. It is a drop-in fuel. It stores in the tanks you have, moves on the same trucks, and goes into the equipment unmodified. Nothing about your fill procedure changes.
Can it be mixed with the diesel already in the tank?
Yes, in any proportion. That is what makes the switch practical: you do not have to run a tank dry or manage a changeover window. Many operators start by blending and increase the proportion over time.
Does it lose power?
No. Power and torque are unaffected, which is usually the first question from anyone running equipment at its limit — construction plant, heavy haulage, generators under load.
How much does it cut emissions?
Lower lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions than petroleum diesel, but the size of the reduction depends on the feedstock and the production pathway. We would rather point you at the documentation for the specific fuel than quote you an average you cannot cite in a report. Ask us what we can supply and we will tell you straight.
Can we run some equipment on it and not the rest?
Yes. The usual starting point is one site or one class of equipment, run long enough to confirm nothing changes operationally — because nothing should. Tell us what you run and where, and we will tell you what switching part of it would look like.
